Freelancer At Home: Work From Home?

Once you have come to the decision that working from home is the answer for you, finding legitimate work at home jobs and business opportunities can often be a time consuming endeavor. This is mostly due to these opportunities being a strange mix of legitimate resources and time wasting scams. There are many scams in existence that one needs to be aware of. Scams can and do come in all forms, shapes and sizes.
Do not be discouraged by the low ratio of traditional employment and work at home positions. When reading of a position that matches your skills, ask yourself if this job could be done from your home office? There are many times that we need to educate the employer and demonstrate the advantages of fulfilling the requirements needed without working in their offices. It is your responsibility to take the initiative and inform the prospective employers of the increasingly popular telecommuting aspect of employment. Once you have come to the conclusion that working from home is for you, beware of the scams, search all conventional avenues and take the initiative! It's well worth the initial hard work you invest.

The fact is, there are most definitely careers that can be done from your home and there are people who are actually successful in those jobs. One of the fastest growing industries happens to be one that can be done from home: Medical Transcription. A Growing Industry
Medical Transcription/Billing is an industry that is exploding. It's prestigious and in demand. According the the U.S. Department of Labor, "Employment of medical transcriptionists is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through 2010. Demand for medical transcription services will be spurred by a growing and aging population."
Transcription is one of those jobs that many people know can be done from home, and so the interest level is very high. Unfortunately, there are many companies out there trying to capitalize on that interest. The results are over-priced and sub-standard courses.

The Writer's Book of Wisdom: 101 Rules for Mastering Your Craft!!

Some writers prefer the silence of late night or early morning, when the neighborhood sleeps. Others seek enlightenment at dawn. Stephen King claims to write in the morning while listening to hard rock, and he says that all writing is telepathy, meaning that it's beamed from some noncorporeal brain into his own. (How it gets through Guns and Roses only King knows.) Most artists call this telepathic phenomenon the imagination, and it works best by itself, without too many external distractions.
